Beanie Quick Facts
Happy the Hippo loves to wade
In the river and in the shade
When Happy shoots water out
You know he’s happy without a doubt!

Happy the Hippo debuted in 1994, first appearing in a light gray color. In 1995, he was released in a softer lavender version, which became his more common look. With his round body, tiny ears, and laid-back expression, Happy won over collectors with his simple charm. Unlike many Beanies, he didn’t see major design changes, so value largely depends on hang and tush tag generations, as well as overall condition. While not considered one of the rarest, the lavender Happy remains a fan favorite for his sweet, relaxed appearance.
